I’m in Nova Scotia now and have finally had a clear night to image the supernova we saw a week ago. These things fade quickly and since its discovery on April 22 the supernova has brightened and now fades. It’s much dimmer than we saw last week. In a couple of weeks it will be gone forever to our view.
This image is much clearer than we could see too. Feel free to share it with your group. I’ve inserted the name next to the supernova, SN2026kid. You might need to zoom in a bit as it’s getting dimmer and redder as it fades from view.
